Schmeichel toch naar Celtic
Celtic betaalde 1,2 miljoen euro aan Aston Villa voor Viljami Sinisalo. De 22-jarige IJslander zal er de strijd moeten aangaan met Kasper Schmeichel. De 37-jarige doelman komt transfervrij over van RSC Anderlecht.
Kasper Schmeichel was jeugdspeler bij GD Estoril Praia (2000-2001), Oure (2001–2002) en Manchester City (2002-2004). Er volgden avonturen bij Darlington, Bury, Falkirk, Cardiff City, Coventry City, Notts County, Leeds United, Leicester City en OGC Nice. Celtic wordt dus zijn tweede uitdaging in de Schotse eerste klasse.
